Wello Publishes 2023 Community Health and Well-Being Report of Brown County

Wello published the 2023 Community Health and Well-Being Report  earlier this month!

This 2023 report is the third report of Wello’s survey which is conducted in Brown County every two years with the first completed in 2019. The 2023 report includes data from new questions on current and future thriving status, discrimination, food insecurity, and trust in government.

The summary report was created from Wello’s 2023 Community Health and Well-Being Survey conducted during July - August 2023. The survey was open to Northeast Wisconsin residents 18 years and older, was completely anonymous, and was available in English and Spanish. The report shows data analyzed for Brown County responses only. The survey was based on the World Health Organization’s Quality of Life - BREF Survey and assesses thriving, struggling, and suffering, subjective data (how people feel about their lives) in four areas: physical health, psychological (mental) health, social relationships, and environments as well as a set of community conditions data.

“Wello’s commitment to equity-centered, collective well-being includes local measurement,” said Natalie Bomstad, Wello Executive Director. “Our measurement framework is built to be a dynamic tool to support people, organizations, businesses, and governments across Northeast Wisconsin. The data can help amplify areas of strength, hope, as well as where resources might have the greatest impact. Finally, we believe that this report and Wello’s measurement efforts can unite people across our region around a shared vision for a thriving community - now and into the future.”

St. Norbert College’s Strategic Research Institute served as research partner on this measurement effort. This summary report and past reports can be found on our Measure page

The Wello Community Health and Well-Being Survey will be conducted again in 2025.
