Second Frogger Pedestrian Safety Effort of 2024 Results in 87% Compliance Rate

Wello’s Yield to Your Neighbor campaign conducted a countywide Crosswalk Education and Enforcement or “Frogger” event on Thursday, August 22, 2024 in partnership with local law enforcement. These pedestrian safety efforts were held at various locations in Allouez, Bellevue, Denmark, De Pere, Howard, Green Bay, Pulaski and Suamico.

Law enforcement partners included Brown County Sheriff’s Office, De Pere Police, Green Bay Police, and Pulaski Police. Vehicles were stopped for failing to follow the law of yielding to pedestrians, state statute 346.24 (1), which resulted in warnings and/or tickets at the officer’s discretion.

Here are the combined results from all locations for the second “Frogger” event on 8/22/24.

Vehicles Yielding Correctly - 611

Compliance Rate - 87%

The first event had 111 warnings and 861 vehicles correctly yielding for an 89% compliance rate.

Ashwaubenon Public Safety and Hobart-Lawrence Police were unable to participate in this event. The last event for this year will take place Wednesday, October 2. The University of Wisconsin - Green Bay will join the countywide effort and host an event on campus that day.
