Statement from Chairman for Oneida Nation, Tehassi Hill:
"The Oneida Nation supports the education of our communities in Wisconsin to recognize “Racism is a Public Health Crisis”. As one of 11 sovereign tribal governments in Wisconsin, we are concerned with the many ways our Indigenous communities are affected in every facet of our lives by racism. Racism bleeds into every ethnically diverse population in our state. The Oneida Nation has core values guided by our vision of being a nation of strong families, built upon our cultural and traditional teachings. Our families have been blended with the diverse population and we encourage strengthening and protecting our people. On behalf of the Oneida Nation, I am proud to sign the resolution to declare Racism as a Public Health Crisis and we support the efforts with a good mind, a good heart and a strong fire."
